Saddle
The importance of the saddle is often overlooked. The saddle affects
the tone by altering the strings angle over the bridge. My teacher
Vahakny Nigogosian, told me how he improved the sound of a small viola
by raising the saddle. This is something should be judged on a case by
case basis. Be aware of those repair people who apply one-fits-all
approach to adjustment.
