Although most violinist play on Dominant strings,
there are other strings on the market today, such as
Pirastro' s Obligato
and Eva Pirazzi, Infeld by Tomastic
and Helicore and Zyex by Daddario.
Virtuoso Roman Totemberg, told me about studying with Carl Flesch in Paris,
Flesch played on the Brancaccio Stradivari using gut strings.
