I had done gilding on the ribs of an Amati viola, a replica of Walter Trampler' s one, but never on the arched back of a violin scroll. This is one of my replicas of Andrea Amati' s violins. He made a series of 36 decorated instruments for Charles the IX, King of Spain. I am fond of decorating instruments as it makes them unique.
